I tried as hard as I could to give them something they needed, maybe something they were searching for. I hope they remember.
In order to retain some of the secrets of Search Retreat I decided on a strange format for this blog. Below are a number of snapshots from my weekend, in chronological order, and in as much detail as I dare to reveal. Things were said and actions were done that I must respect by keeping them unmentioned. Therefore some of these snapshots are intentionally vague. That being said, I hope that I create a picture of what my experience was like entirely from my perspective. Enjoy.

Hands
The dark room was lit by one candle in the center of our circle. Our hands were placed on the one member of our group sitting in the center, head bowed in quiet reverence. The activity asked that we each say something to the person in the middle of the circle, some positive thought or feeling, something that we had learned about that person in our short time together. I wanted to offer something useful to each one. Words of encouragement and love, something that they could fall back on in times of spiritual thirst. With each new member's turn in the circle my apprehension grew stronger. I prayed that God speak through me, that he use me as a mouthpiece. For each person an idea popped into my head that I ran with, formed and shaped in my mind until it was my turn to speak. My delivery was smooth and calm, confident and unwavering.
